I do a lot of thinking about the Metaverse. I assume we will have an AR companion that is an AI. We can hear and talk to it, but no one else sees/hears our companion unless we enable that. Think, business meetings, social gatherings, family holidays, dates, etc.
In the future, when an AI can take sensory input data, we will pair our babies with their AI at birth. So the AI will have approximately the same inputs as the child throughout life. This AI will run on the family's computing platform or family's cloud. The data sets will belong to the family, privately.
Eventually the companion AI can represent the growing / adult person as an agent.
A form of digital identity and identity provider. In the ideal Metaverse, we will require that identity be provided by the individual, not by the companies the individual uses for services. But it is too hard for an individual to respond to all the requests for some aspect of their identity. Especially when that request goes between third parties, e.g. bank and credit reporting company. So, the individual needs a digital agent to help with that. The AR + AI from birth will provide that digital identity provider service.
